The urgent requirement for research and producing and characterizing polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies and their relative antigens emphasize the necessity for establishment of Immunochemistry Department. Sufficient information about the chemical structure of antigens, their binding to other biological materials in addition to their application in immunization of lab animals is required to acquire antigens through different methods i.e. synthesis and purification. Meanwhile, Immunochemistry Department is also responsible to conduct comprehensive research on chemical reaction, affinity and purification of polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies as well as conjugation of enzyme and fluorescent substances to antibodies, providing buffer and chemical environment to maximize enzyme and antibodies stability as well as offering Epitope Mapping service are achieved at this department. In summary, other activities of Immunochemistry Department include requirement of purified antigens and antibodies, their binding to enzyme and fluorescent substances used in the quality and quantity analysis of biological processes characterization of an antibody, designation of Epitope Mapping for biological materials, stabilization of antibodies and antigens in different environments, designing various test such as ELISA for specific purposes and application of modern methods for improvement of the test preciseness and quickness.
